Resort World Genting, often abbreviated as RWG, is constructed and established in 1965 by a private company called Genting Highlands Berhad. Later on, the first Prime Minister of Malaysia granted a gaming license to support the growth and development of the area in 1969, since he was so impressed by the mountain resort being developed by a private sector that without any help from the government. Ever since then, Genting Highlands has been known as the only legal land-based casino in the country and home to the largest hotel in the world according to the Guinness World Record for the period 2006 – 2008, and from 2015 until the present day.
This three-star hotel is announced as the largest hotel in the world from the number of rooms by Guinness World Records in 2006, where it boasts an impressive 6,118 rooms. In 2008, the title was taken by the Venetian in Las Vegas, but the First World Hotel took back the title in 2015. This time, the hotel has a staggering amount of 7,351 rooms after a construction of a new wing has been finished. The 500.000 square-foot First World Plaza above the lobby is home to various retail and dining outlets, as well as the Skytropolis indoor theme park. The Plaza also has an access to the SkyAvenue, the newest shopping mall in Genting Highlands. Other than that, there are also several five-star hotels available for the more sophisticated guests, such as the Rockford, Maxims, and Awana Hotel.

This 6,000 seat capacity concert hall is built in 1998 and is definitely one of the major attractions of Genting Highlands. Many world-renowned musicians and artists have performed on its stage, such as Boyz II Men, Michael Learns to Rock, Lionel Richie, S.H.E, Jolin Tsai, and the likes. The 45,000 square feet amphitheater also had been used in the past for hosting several events such as the IIFA Awards, Zee Cine Award show, and others. At first, the concert hall was built in the open without any roof. However, as the weather around Genting Highlands can be pretty bad such as thick fogs, a roof was added later in the construction.
High on a rocky slope in the Genting Highlands, lies a temple-cave complex complete with an iconic 9-story pagoda, a 15 meter tall Buddha statue, and other religious objects dedicated to the Chinese tradition and beliefs. The main 9-story pagoda is known for housing ten thousand lanterns or “blessing lamps” as it was called. However, only about 2,000 lamps that were still intact today. The temple complex boasts a breathtaking scenery and serene ambience that reminds us of the beauty of nature.
Dedicated as a tribute to Genting Highland's founder, Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, the gallery compiled the history of RWG, from its conception to construction to the world-class resort that we all know today. The Visitor's Galleria also divulged the background and autobiography of Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, from a humble businessman to the owner of an empire. It is truly an inspiring story that many visitors would not like to miss during their visit.

How to Get Tickets?
Some of the Genting Highlands attractions requires you to buy an admission ticket. Prices are vary depending on the venue. Entrance to the casino and shopping mall is free, as well as several attractions such as the SkySymphony, Chin Swee Caves, etc.
How To Get Around?
Traveling between venues in Genting Highland is easy. There are several shuttle buses as well as taxis to the remote areas, while the main venues such as hotels, casino, and theme parks are connected by walkways and escalators.

You don't need a guide around Genting Highlands as there are plenty of signs and the staffs are very helpful. Certain attractions, however, provides an optional tour guides to provide a better explanation and overall experience to the visitors.
How To Get There?
Genting Highlands can be reached via a bus from Kuala Lumpur, which can get you to the base of the highlands. From there, visitors can take a cable car, which is probably the longest cable car ride in Asia, to the Genting Highland. The ticket counter in KL central provides a full package that covers both the bus and cable car's admission fee. You can also take a taxi, albeit at a much more expensive rate.
